Symposium information
Abstracts
The deadline for submitting abstracts was January 15, 2010. More information is found under "Presentations" below. Abstracts of accepted oral or poster presentations will be published on this web site. An abstract book will be printed and distributed at the on-site registration.
Accommodation
Participants are asked to make their own hotel reservations. Due to the Swedish Royal wedding on June 19, 2010, there will be many events going on all over Stockholm and in the suburbs, during the weeks prior to the wedding. Be sure to make your hotel reservation in good time.
Badges
Each participant will receive a name badge at the on-site registration. All participants are requested to wear the badge during the entire symposium.
Cancellations
Only written notifications, by email, letter or fax, to the Symposium secretariat will be accepted. Prepaid fees (minus a handling charge of SEK 300) will be refunded for cancellations received before April 30, 2010. If cancellation is received by May 15, 50% of the fee will be refunded. After this date no refunds will be made. Approved refunds are made after the symposium.
Confirmation of your registration
When you register using the on-line registration facility on the symposium web site, you will receive a confirmation by email. Be sure to spell your email address correctly. Note that each registration must have a unique email address!
Currency
The official currency in Sweden is Swedish Krona (SEK).

Note that the fee for one-day participation is applicable for one day only, and cannot be combined in any way. The fee gives access to the lectures on one specific day.
Swedish VAT (Value Added Tax) has to be paid by all participants and is included in the fee. For more information about a possible refund, click here.
What is included in the participation fee (basic and early-bird)?

Lunches are not included in the participation fee. A number of lunch restaurants and food courts are found in the vicinity.
Dress code
Casual. It is recommended that you bring appropriate clothing for Nordic cool evenings and possible rain showers.
Electricity
The electrical current in Sweden is 230 V. Most hotels provide 110 V outlets for shavers.
Exhibition
The tentative opening hours for the Exhibition of Chemical and Biological Defence Equipment is as follows:

Final programme
The final programme will be published in the middle of May 2010 at this web site. A copy of the program (with updates) will also be distributed at the on-site registration.
Language
The symposium language will be English. No interpretation facilities will be provided.
Letter of invitation
Please contact the symposium secretariat if you need a letter of invitation for your visa application.
Mobile phones
As a courtesy to speakers and other delegates we request that all mobile phones and/or pagers be switched off during all sessions.
No-show
If a paper/poster is accepted for presentation, the author must attend the symposium and make the presentation in person. If a presenting author - without a good reason - withdraws his/her paper after April 1, 2010, or does not show up at the session for which the presentation has been scheduled, we will not consider any contribution from him/her at the next CBW Protection Symposium.
Payment
The symposium fee should preferably be paid in advance, in SEK. The early-bird rate is not applicable if you pay the fee at the on-site registration.

Presentations
The scientific committee of the symposium will select the oral and poster presentations from the abstracts that have been submitted to us.
The general allotted time for each presentation is 15 min plus 5 minutes for questions. The organizers expect the timetable of the programme to be followed. The moderators are instructed to interrupt speakers who try to exceed their allotted time.
Parallel sessions
Parallel sessions will be held all days.
Participation
The symposium is primarily intended for people engaged in research, development, production or procurement within the field of protection against chemical and biological warfare agents.
The symposium is not open to the public.
Press
Journalists are welcome to attend the symposium.
Proceedings
All accepted presentations (oral and poster) will be included in the Proceedings. Each participant will receive one copy of the Proceedings at the on-site registration.
On-site registration
The registration desk at Kistamässan will open on Monday June 7, 2010.
VISA/Master Card will be accepted for payment. We do not accept American Express or Diners.
Swedish krona (SEK), US Dollars (USD) and Euro will be accepted for cash payment on-site. No other currencies.
Security classification
Unclassified. The symposium is, however, not open to the public.
Smoking policy
Smoking is not allowed in the symposium premises. Smoking is moreover banned in many public places is Sweden.
Social programme
The get-together will be held on Monday, June 7 at the symposium venue. The get-together is free for all delegates and exhibitors.
A conference dinner will be held at the City Hall (Stadshuset) on Tuesday, June 8. Tickets to the symposium dinner should be ordered and paid in advance, together with the participation fee.
Time
Sweden is one hour ahead of GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
Visa for entry into Sweden
Participants are responsible for obtaining visas in case that is needed for entry into Sweden from their home country. Applicants for visas should contact the Swedish embassy or consulate in their home country. Application should be made in good time.

VAT (Value Added Tax)
All participants (delegates as well as exhibitors) must pay Swedish VAT.

The venue
The symposium venue is Kistamässan, a few kilometres north of the city of Stockholm, accessible both by subway and commuter trains. The venue opened in 2008, and is situated in one of the world's leading ICT clusters, Kista Science City. More than 1400 companies, for instance Ericsson, Nokia, IBM and Microsoft have their offices in Kista.
